Doctor of Podiatric Medicine is awarded after four years of didactic and clinical training in medicine, with increased emphasis on feet. A podiatric physician is trained not only to treat problems which arise in the feet, but also problems which manifest in the feet that are caused by other parts of the body. For example, diabetes (sugar) may result in an open sore on the foot. A leg much longer than the other may cause a bunion. Podiatrists are trained to treat all of the many different problems that arise in the feet. The treatment may take many forms, including surgery, x-rays, injections, medications, physical therapy, orthotic devices, and palliation. First year residency: Foot surgery and diabetes; Baltimore, Maryland Second year residency: Foot surgery and sports medicine; San Francisco and Oakland, California Presently: Working on M.S., Surgical Education Continuing Education: Since 1978, an average of over 100 hours per year. Podiatry Recognition Award by the American Podiatric Medical Association in 1984 for continuing Podiatric Medical Education (which at that time was only the eighth such award in the United States.)

FINANCIAL INFORMATION

Dr. Goldstein is a participating provider for several healthcare plans such as Aetna, Blue Cross, Cigna, HealthNet, LifeWise, Medicare, ODS, PacifiCare, Pacific Source, Providence Health Plans, Secure Horizons, United Health, and many more. Do not hesitate to ask us IF we are providers of your insurance. Please call our office or your health plan for recent changes. We will assist in making collections from primary insurance policies and will credit any such collections to the patient’s account. However, we cannot render services on the assumption that our charges will be paid by an insurance company, except for Health Maintenance Organizations, participating provider plans, and workers’ compensation. Some insurance plans require a REFERRAL from your primary care physician (PCP). PLEASE make sure that the referral is transmitted to our office prior to your visit(s). THANK YOU for helping to follow the guidelines of your insurance plan, and for actively participating in your care.

METHODS OF PAYMENT

Our office accepts cash or check. We do not accept credit or debit cards.

CANCELLATION AND NO SHOW POLICY

A minimum of 24-hour notice of cancellation is appreciated. New patients who do not show for the initial appointment, and established patients who do not show twice, will not be rescheduled.
